Sarah Blasko – Islington Academy – 15/04/2010
This was the first time for me getting to see Sarah Blasko perform live, and songs from her latest albumĀ ‘As Day Follows Night’ translated particularly well this evening.
I remember reading a review from this show a little later on which said the gig wasn’t that good, but I have to highly disagree with that as I feel perhaps she may have alienated some of the audience by playing a lot of new songs, which personally for me I much preferred as she has progressed in leaps and bounds with every album she has released.
Here are a couple of songs from the show so you can make up your own mind how it was:
Lost & Defeated
We Won’t Run
Karnivool – Relentless Garage – 15/03/2010
Getting to see Karnivool twice in a 6 month period was a truly amazing experience.
This time they played their own headline show, so we got to see some of the more lengthy songs such as Deadman and Change Pt II.
Here’s a performance of Goliath from the show:
Goliath
Silversun Pickups – London ULU – 10/12/2009
Another first for me seeing the Silversun Pickups in London, and they put on a great show.
Watching their drummer’s playing style (what’s with the super high crash?) was entertaining to say the least.
Definitely check them out if you ever get the chance.
Well Thought Out Twinkles
Karnivool – Electric Ballroom – 20/09/2009
This was the first time getting to see Karnivool play live, and let me assure you the 5 year wait was well worth it!
They were supporting Skindred on a UK wide tour, with the show at the Electric Ballroom being their last before heading back to Australia.
Here are a couple of songs from the evening.
Simple Boy
Set Fire To The Hive
Welcome
Welcome to the website of Jim Marshall.
As you can see there’s not a lot here at the moment, but as I get time I’ll try and add a few bits & pieces of interest.
In the meantime, drop me a line!
